Fees and Materials: As of 1 October 2023, the piano lessons are priced at £32 per hour, £27 for 45 minutes, and £23 for a half-hour session. Additional fees may apply for necessary music and examination materials, which I will provide upon request. Payment can be made via bank transfer, cash, or cheque.
Multiple Student Discount: Families that have more than one student taking lessons at Leeds Piano Lessons will have additional discounts. 10% per tuition payment for 2 students, 17% for 3 students and 20% for 4 students and over. For example, 2 students in one family for a 30-minute lesson each will get 10% off (23+23=46; 46-10%=41). 3 students for 3 30-minute lessons will get 17% off (23+23+23=69; 69-17%=57). 4 students for 2 30-minute lessons and 2 45-minute lessons will get 20% off (23+23+27+27=100; 100-20%=80).
Cancellation and Attendance: In the event of a lesson cancellation, a make-up lesson will be scheduled at the student’s convenience. However, if a lesson is cancelled or missed by the student with less than 48 hours notice, it will not be refunded or rescheduled, except at my discretion.
School Terms and Absences: I provide piano lessons year-round, and kindly request at least a week’s notice for any planned absences. In the event of an extended absence, such as a long holiday, a retention fee may be charged to hold the student’s weekly lesson slot.
Termination of Lessons: A one-month notice is typically required for discontinuing lessons, however, exceptions may be made if a suitable replacement student is found. Any prepaid lessons will not be refunded.
Practice: Consistent practice is essential to mastering the piano. Students should practice regularly, preferably every day, and have access to a properly maintained instrument, such as a piano or a touch-sensitive electronic keyboard with weighted keys, on which to practice. A dedicated stool or chair, preferably adjustable, is also important. I am more than happy to provide recommendations if needed.
